Also for reference, I'm using a filter at my house's entry point, the gateway is Mediacom one, UBC1329 model, and the MoCA adapter is a Hitron, MoCA 2.5 connection. If it's an IP issue, a frequency issue, maybe it's Mediacom? Mediacom tech support was not helpful and so here I am. I'm trying to figure out where the conflict is. As soon as I disconnect the MoCA connection wifi comes back. I'm still connected to it, but my phone gives me the "connected but no internet" message. ![]() The problem I'm having is that the instant I connect the computer to the MoCA adapter my wifi drops. MoCA setup works, almost 500mbps down to the computer. Coax wall jack -> MoCA adapter -> computer with Ethernet cable. Gateway has MoCA built in so only using an adapter at the computer. Want to hardwire my computer upstairs as it's in a dead zone and get only 20mbps down over wifi up there.Įnter MoCA. Have the modem/router/gateway on the main floor and have TV hardwired to it. This setup minimizes the drop in signal strength at each device - much better than 2 "1-to-4" splitters connected in "series". If you don't need 4 "outs" on one of your splitters, it's best to replace it by a "1-to-3" splitter.Connect your Shaw Phone adapter, if you have one, to that port, since the adapter is least-sensitive to lower signal-levels. ![]() If one connector has a higher (in absolute value) value, that is a larger decrease in signal-strength. If the values are identical, that's good. check the "db" levels on each "out" on your 1-to-4 splitters.the other out to your other "1-to-4" splitter. ![]()
